The terms that apply to anyone using ServiceSalute — giving recognition, receiving it, or verifying it.
These terms apply to everyone who uses the ServiceSalute website: people giving recognition, people who have been recognized, and anyone checking whether a credential is genuine.
A healthcare organization that subscribes to ServiceSalute is additionally bound by the Client Agreement, which governs the commercial relationship. Where the two conflict for a subscribing organization, the Client Agreement prevails.
A recognition issued through ServiceSalute is a ceremonial acknowledgement. It cannot be redeemed, exchanged, sold, transferred, or converted into money or anything else of value, and it confers no ownership of anything.
Although recognitions are recorded publicly for the purpose of proving they are genuine, they are not investments, not securities, and not tradable assets. They are deliberately built so that they cannot be transferred: a recognition belongs to the person who earned it and to no one else.
ServiceSalute attests to one thing: that a recorded recognition is authentic and has not been altered since it was issued. That is what our verification page checks and all it claims.
The issuing organization is responsible for the substance — whether the person deserved the recognition, whether the facts behind it are right, and whether it should have been issued at all. Recognition is issued by the organization and independently verified by ServiceSalute. These are different roles and we do not blur them.
Verification is not certification. Nothing issued through this service is a professional credential, a license, a board certification, or an endorsement of anyone’s clinical competence, and it must not be presented as one.
When you give recognition, you confirm that you are describing your own genuine experience of the person you are thanking.
You may not submit recognition on behalf of someone who did not ask you to, submit repeatedly to inflate a caregiver’s count, use automated means to submit, or attempt to interfere with the service or access records that are not yours. We rate-limit submissions and may block access where we detect abuse.
Because the form accepts only prepared choices, there is no way to submit offensive or harmful text through it. There is also no way to submit anything about your medical care, and you should not attempt to convey it by other means.
An issuing organization may revoke a recognition that was issued in error or obtained improperly. A revoked recognition is marked as revoked on its verification page and is no longer valid.
A recognition may also be reissued to correct an error in its underlying details. The corrected recognition becomes the valid one and the superseded record is retired.
The public record behind a recognition is permanent and cannot be deleted by us, by the issuing organization, or by anyone else. Before giving or accepting recognition, understand that this element is not reversible.
That record contains no personal information. If you ask us to delete the private details, we will, and the remaining public record will show that details have been withheld. See the Privacy Policy.
We aim to keep the service available continuously, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend the service for maintenance, and we may change or discontinue features.
One commitment survives any interruption and any change: credentials already issued remain verifiable. That is the point of anchoring them publicly rather than only in our database.
The ServiceSalute name, logo, badge artwork, and the design of this website belong to us. Recognition artwork may not be reproduced to suggest that a recognition was issued when it was not.
A person who has been recognized may freely display, share, and link to their own credential. That is what it is for.
The service is provided “as is.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the public record will remain available, or that any third-party network or service provider will continue operating. We have designed the system so that a credential can be checked against a public record rather than only against us, which reduces but does not eliminate this dependency.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ServiceSalute will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, arising from use of the service.
For an individual user, our total liability arising out of or relating to the service will not exceed one hundred United States dollars (US$100). For a subscribing organization, the cap in the Client Agreement applies instead.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
We may update these terms. The version identifier and date at the top of this page always reflect the current version. Continuing to use the service after a change means accepting the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the service will be brought exclusively in the state and federal courts located in Hillsborough County, Florida, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
